Principals and Goals

FCS Kindergarten strives to support high-quality learning while allowing every child to learn in a way that is best suited to the child's strengths and needs.

The Kindergarten program is designed to help every child reach his or her full potential through a program of learning that is coherent, relevant, and age-appropriate. It recognizes that today and in the future, children need to be critically literate to synthesize information, make informed decisions, communicate effectively, and thrive in an ever-changing global community. It is important for children to be connected to the curriculum, and to see themselves in what is taught, how it is taught, and how it applies to the world at large. The curriculum recognizes that the needs of learners are diverse and helps all learners develop the knowledge, skills, and perspectives they need to become informed productive, caring, responsible, and active citizens in their communities and the world.

The Kindergarten program is a child-centered, developmentally appropriate, integrated program of learning for three, four, and five-year-old children. The purpose of the program is to establish a strong foundation for learning in the early years and to do so in a safe and caring, play-based environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of all children.

The primary goals of the Kindergarten program are:

• to establish a strong foundation for learning in the early years;

• to help children make a smooth transition from home, child care, or preschool settings to school settings;

• to allow children to reap the many proven benefits of learning through relationships, and through play and inquiry;

• to set children on a path of lifelong learning and nurture competencies that they will need to thrive in the world of today and tomorrow.

The Kindergarten program reflects the belief that three, four, and five-year-olds are capable and competent learners, full of potential and ready to take ownership of their learning. It approaches children as unique individuals who live and learn within families and communities. Based on these beliefs, and with knowledge gained from research and proven in practice,

the Kindergarten program:

• supports the creation of a learning environment that allows all children to feel comfortable in applying their unique ways of thinking and learning;

• is built around expectations that are challenging but attainable;

• is flexible enough to respond to individual differences;

PLAY-BASED LEARNING

Global conversations and perspectives on learning from various fields – neuroscience, developmental and social psychology, economics, medical research, education, and early childhood studies – confirm that, among the pedagogical approaches described above, play-based learning emerges as a focal point, with proven benefits for learning among children of all ages, and indeed among adolescent and adult learners.

1. Play is recognized as a child’s right, and it is essential to the child’s optimal development.

2. All children are viewed as competent, curious, capable of complex thinking, and rich in potential and experience.

3. A natural curiosity and a desire to explore, play, and inquire are the primary drivers of learning among young children.

4. The learning environment plays a key role in what and how a child learns

5. In play-based learning programs, assessment supports the child’s learning and autonomy as a learner.

Age 3

Considering the attention span of the young age group, 3 years is a very sensitive period. Florya Canada Schools Kindergarten education program is a program that enables 3-year-old children to develop their curiosity constructively, as well as to reinforce their communication, concentration, self-confidence, and social skills. It encourages them to love to ask questions and teaches self-sufficiency and independence.

When a child is born, its whole world is its mother and father. Parents are the ones who make up most of the child's world and they are the ones who can shape their world and make it colorful. The more they bring activities and stimulation the more the child will develop and become a good learner. Although the parent is the leading role in the child's first years, it soon becomes inadequate for the child's development. At this stage, your child should now open up to the outside world. The most important part of opening up to the outside world is that the child starts preschool education. Right at this moment Canada Schools Kindergarten comes into play.

Your child should have a regular school life starting from age 3!

With the education system and needs of the century, we are in, it has become important for a child who is 3 years old to start the school process. The fact that your child has school responsibilities such as mother and father's responsibilities outside the home is a very important factor for your child's cognitive and social development as well as his-her personality development.

Life limited to home is limiting your child's development!

A baby's life begins with home and learning takes place through its home and its immediate surroundings. With your baby walking, developing speaking skills, toilet training, the autonomy period begins.

When the child who acquired these basic skills at home, when they start FCS Kindergarten they will get;

* different conceptual educational skills,

* motor skills,

* Growth continues through the development of social and communication skills.

Florya Canada Schools Kindergarten education program at this stage in a child's development

* has constantly changed teaching methods to keep the child's attention,

* different communication methods are learned,

* unlimited games,

* An environment that has a variety of stimuli.

He or she gains as many different and colorful experiences as his-her peers around the world in Florya Canada Schools Kindergarten.

It is a scientific fact that 50% of mental development in humans is established in the first 4 years and 30% is completed until the age of 8. Therefore, it is very important to start preschool education at the right time and age.

Age 4

The Florya Canada Schools Kindergarten curriculum is a program that enables 4-year-olds to develop their curiosity constructively, as well as to reinforce their communication, concentration, self-confidence, and social skills. It encourages them to love to ask questions and teaches self-sufficiency and independence.

Your child becomes more and more individual by exploring the outside world most comprehensively and colorfully at FCS Kindergarten. Our rich curriculum, which allows your child to gain different experiences and experience different environments while becoming more and more individual. FCS creates positive environments for identity and personality development. It also allows him or her to develop skills to cope with negative experiences.

Each person is a different world because of his environment, education, lifestyle, experiences, and beliefs. The fact that a certain number of children from the same age group, who are raised with different attitudes from many different cultures and who have different experiences, are together in our school, ensures that our children get as much different experience as possible.

For our 4-year olds education, we try to identify the interests and talents of the child. Considering the individual differences of our students, which we observe from the beginning of the first day of school, we provide easier and more accurate support to their physical and mental development. This process brings spot-on solutions.

It is a scientific fact that 50% of mental development in humans is established in the first 4 years and 30% is completed until the age of 8. Therefore, it is very important to start preschool education at the right time and age.

Seven learning and development points shape our educational programs in our school. These learning and development points are all important and interrelated. Three of them are extremely important to trigger the child's curiosity and willingness to learn and to develop their capacity to learn, build relationships, and succeed.

  • Communication and language

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social and emotional development

In Florya Canada Schools Kindergarten, children are supported by these four points that strengthen and enforce the three main points that were mentioned above.

* preparation for reading -writing * mathematics * understanding the world * expressive art and design

Age 5

Florya Canada Schools Kindergarten encourages the love of learning that exists in children, takes into account individual differences and development levels, helps develop self-care skills and abilities, enables them to think creatively and critically. We also help them solve problems, develop self-esteem, and self-confidence. We try to make them have strong communication skills and be aware of their responsibilities, environment, and society. We maintain a program that gives importance to raising conscious, happy, and loving individuals.

The child, who is number 1 in the family during its first couple of years, as a 5-year-old and starting school, he-she begins to experience being second or even third among other classmates. Considering all the factors in the development of a child these changes will be supported positively in our education, we help him-her realize that he-she is strong and is a self-learning individual. As a result, preschool education is a phenomenon that nourishes your child spiritually with every positive or negative experience gained while supporting their cognitive, social, and language development.

Students who receive preschool education:

- He-she realizes his-her talents early, uses his-her intelligence potential effectively.

- Self-confidence will be high.

School-Parent Communication

The understanding that children, families, and educators share about themselves and each other, and about the roles they play in children’s learning, has a profound impact on what happens in the Kindergarten classroom.

All children are competent, capable of complex thinking, curious, and rich in potential and experience. They grow up in families with diverse social, cultural, and linguistic perspectives. Every child should feel that he or she belongs, is a valuable contributor to his or her surroundings, and deserves the opportunity to succeed. When we recognize children as competent, capable, and curious, we are more likely to deliver programs that value and build on their strengths and abilities.

Families are composed of individuals who are competent and capable, curious, and rich inexperience. Families love their children and want the best for them. Families are experts on their children. They are the first and most powerful influence on children's learning, development, health, and well-being. Families bring diverse social, cultural, and linguistic perspectives. Families should feel that they belong, are valuable contributors to their children's learning, and deserve to be engaged in a meaningful way

Educators are competent and capable, curious, and rich inexperience. They are knowledgeable, caring, reflective, and resourceful professionals. They bring diverse social, cultural, and linguistic perspectives. They collaborate with others to create engaging environments and experiences to foster children's learning and development. Educators are lifelong learners. They take responsibility for their learning and make decisions about ways to integrate knowledge from theory, research, their own experience, and their understanding of the individual children and families they work with. Every educator should feel he or she belongs, is a valuable contributor and deserves the opportunity to engage in meaningful work.
